Recycling Old Concrete as Waste Concrete Powder for Use in Pervious Concrete: Effects on Permeability, Strength and Eco-Friendliness
نویسندگان
چکیده
The fine portion of crushed old concrete is difficult to be recycled for use in new because it contains cement paste, which generally has high porosity and low strength. Hence, practice, the coarse as aggregate mostly not recycled. Nevertheless, attempts have been made recent years recycle waste powder (WCP) by grinding before use. In this research, WCP was used make pervious concrete. added using paste replacement method (PR method) replacing an equal volume cementitious paste. A series mixes containing 100% having different amounts were produced testing interconnected porosity, water permeability results showed that addition PR can improve 9% 18%, greatly enhance strength 86%, well decrease consumption 10% at same time. Therefore, great potential applied production eco-friendly high-performance

Virtual Pervious Concrete: Microstructure, Percolation, and Permeability
As the usage of pervious concrete continues to increase dramatically, a better understanding of the linkages between microstructure, transport properties, and durability will assist suppliers in mixture proportioning and design. This paper presents various virtual pervious concrete microstructural models and compares their percolation characteristics and computed transport properties to those o...
متن کاملPrediction of Pervious Concrete Permeability and Compressive Strength Using Artificial Neural Networks
Pervious concrete is a concrete mixture prepared from cement, aggregates, water, little or no fines, and in some cases admixtures. The hydrological property of pervious concrete is the primary reason for its reappearance in construction. Much research has been conducted on plain concrete, but little attention has been paid to porous concrete, particularly to the analytical prediction modeling o...
متن کاملPredicting the Permeability of Pervious Concrete (Enhanced Porosity Concrete) from Non-Destructive Electrical Measurements
The effectiveness of a pervious concrete pavement to transport water through it depends on the intrinsic permeability of the system. However, this characteristic is usually defined in terms of the porosity of the material. It has been observed that porosity alone is an inadequate indicator of the permeability of pervious concretes, since the permeability depends on pore sizes, geometry and conn...
متن کاملConcrete Debris Recycling, Environmental and Economic Effects
In this paper, first we identify the destruction ways of concrete constructions and the benefits of waste management and the plans to recycle the concrete debris were investigated and it was concluded that the existence of plans to recycle the concrete debris could lead to big economic save ups and by recycling these debris we can create affordable ways for concrete making centers. By the way, ...
